Foster the Future web site opens its doors! This website is small but growing; please mail Charity Bell at charity@fosterthefuture.org with any comments or suggestions you have about this site.
What is Foster the Future?
Foster the Future is an organization that is working to recruit
and support strong dedicated foster families. These families will
be committed to creating "healing homes" for foster kids, homes
that nurture children and allow them to grow and prepare themselves
for their next step. That may mean returning home, going to relatives,
or being adopted.
Our goal is to make lives for foster/advocate families just a bit easier. We would like to thank foster families for their love and nurture of foster children though small but thoughtful deeds: Helping a foster mom buy a double stroller, getting new linens for a foster child's bed, giving a foster family whose child has just left their home a gift certificate for dinner.
We plan to start a fund that would allow foster parents and foster
kids a little money for "extras". Some kids would love to take music
lessons, participate in sports and other activities but their foster
families cannot afford them. Some foster families would like to
take foster children on vacation with them but cannot afford an
extra ticket. Little things like this make a huge difference!
In order to recruit more families we plan to hold information sessions, be at local events and otherwise be as visible as possible in the community. Please let us know if you would like to get involved!
